"Summer Vibes" - Summer Showcase

 

Dress rehearsal is at JDA on the Outdoor Stage and the showcase is at at the Abington Art Center.  

 

Dress Rehearsal: Friday 8/18 at 5:00 PM

Location: JDA's Outdoor Stage - 459 YORK ROAD (No Parking at the Studio)

Recital: Saturday 8/19 at 11:00 AM

Location: Abington Art Center  - 515 Meetinghouse Road 

 

Recital Time:

• Show Starts at 11:00 AM (Dancers arrive at 10:30 AM)

• Please check your dancer in at the table located at the top of the hill so we know they are there

 

Attire:

•  Dancers will wear their JDA Recital Tank, black leggings or shorts, dance shoes and hair neatly pulled up in a pony tail or bun.  Please ask your teacher about shoes if your dancer is in a combo class.  Hip hop classes wear sneakers (black is preferred).  Please come dressed and ready to dance for both dress rehearsal and the showcase.

• Abington Art Center - 515 Meetinghouse Road. Additional parking is available at the Triangle Building at Abington Friends School

 

Please note that our outdoor venue does not offer seating for audience members. There is a spacious grassy area where friends and family can relax during the show, so please bring chairs or blankets and anything else you may need to make yourselves comfortable. Tickets are required for the audience at this event.  Tickets are not required for children under the age of 2.  Tickets are not required for the dancers.  

 

Tickets can be purchased through the website.   Overflow parking is available across the street from the Abington Art Center at the parking lot of the Triangle Building at Abington Friends School.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

What happens if it rains? 

• In the event of rain on Friday 8/18 dress rehearsal will be canceled.  In the event of rain on Saturday 8/19 recital will be moved to Sunday 8/20 weather permitting.

 

Where do I go when I get there?  

•  You can walk through the main building to get to the stage or around either side of the building.  Dancers sit with their family in the audience until it is their turn to dance.  Please check your dancer in at the table at the top of the hill.

 

What should my dancer wear?

• Your dancer should come dressed in their JDA Tank, black leggings or shorts, and dance shoes.

 

Where do I park?

• Parking is available at the Abington Art Center.  Additional parking is also available in the overflow lot at the Triangle Building of AFS.  Please do not block the driveways at the Abington Arts Center.  You may drop off your dancer and then go park your car.   If you need handicap parking please email the studio.

 

How Long is the show?

• The show is expected to be between 1 & 1 1/4 hours.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

• Yes, you may buy tickets at the table at the top of the hill.  Only cash or Venmo payments can be accepted at the venue.  

Is there a limit on the number of tickets I can buy?  

• There is no limit to the number of tickets per family.
